TORONTO: This month,
Bell Sympatico launched an infomercial to promote their new
on-line security services – Firewall, Parental Controls
and Virus Protection. This is Sympatico’s third infomercial
in five years, each produced by Toronto-based Northern Lights
Direct Response Television.
According to Rob Payne, Sympatico’s Director of Marketing,
the infomercial format was an obvious choice to help promote
the new security services. “Infomercials give us the
time to talk in detail about how our new security services
provide greater privacy and security to enhance the entire
on-line experience. With thirty minutes, we have the time
we need to demonstrate how the services work, include testimonials
from satisfied customers, and of course, make a very compelling
offer.”
According to Ian French, writer, creative director and president
of Northern Lights Direct Response Television, the goal was
to present the new security services, without losing sight
of Sympatico’s core selling message. “We wanted
to introduce these great new security services while still
focusing on Sympatico’s key features, including speed
and the ability to use the phone and the Internet at the same
time.”
Media buying for the infomercial is being handled by Cossette
Communications, Bell Sympatico’s agency of record.
